Privacy
What Pupilmate keeps about you, and what it doesn't.
Pupilmate works without an account and without cookies. Almost everything the site remembers about you stays in your own browser and goes nowhere. This page lists what does and doesn't happen with your data.
Last updated: 31 October 2026.
What your browser keeps
Solved puzzles, your practice positions, your level, the game you are playing, your Pupil Frenzy scores, your sound settings: only the browser you play in keeps these, in that browser's storage. None of it is on a server, and none of it shows up on another device.
Clear the site data for pupilmate.com in your browser and all of it is gone.
Your own games
Enter a Lichess or Chess.com username and your browser fetches your games directly from Lichess or Chess.com. That name and those games never reach a Pupilmate server. The computer analyzes your games in your own browser, and the results stay there.
A PGN file you choose is read by your browser itself. It is not sent anywhere.
How the site counts
Pupilmate uses Vercel Web Analytics to see how many people view which page. That works without cookies and without recognizing a visitor: it counts page views, country and type of device, in aggregate.
Pupilmate sets no cookies, so there is no cookie banner.
Hosting
The site runs on Vercel Inc. (San Francisco, United States). Vercel processes technical data, such as your IP address, to serve the pages. Vercel is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Who is responsible
Pupilmate is made by Vizibly, 't Zanddorp 55, 4335 AE Middelburg, the Netherlands, Chamber of Commerce 68478143. Vizibly is responsible for the data on this site.
You have the right to ask which data exists about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object. Because Pupilmate keeps almost nothing about you, there is usually nothing to request. Questions go through the Vizibly contact page. If that doesn't resolve it, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
